This former Lloyds Bank Headquarters has been transformed into a 42 Luxury Bedroom Hotel, keeping the traditional style with use of rich velvets and vibrant colours. The hotel is situated in the centre of Bristol, which made unloading and access very difficult but we had to put in place strategies and risk assessments to enable easy and swift fitting.

The Curtain Cabin made and supplied all curtains, voiles, poles, blinds to the bedrooms giving a feeling of luxury and grandeur. Some of the rooms were over 5 metres drops on the curtains and so specialist poles and fitting techniques were applied to this remarkable building.

It has been a pleasure working with this Hotel and it is still one of our favourites.

A magnificent Jacobean manor dating back to 1620, Froyle Park blends tranquility with classic elegance, making it the perfect venue for a dream wedding or corporate event. With availability for exclusive use and utter privacy for up to 300 guests, the grand country manor house and its extensive grounds offers one of the south of England’s most picture perfect setting.

From mood boards to fitting – we carried out the complete package at Froyle Park owned by the Harbour Hotels. They wanted a country look so we went for rich tartans and chenille fabrics, bringing rich colours of Burgundy, Cardinal Reds, True Blues, Golds, Purples and Greens. Most of the apartments had four poster beds so we designed and made the cushions, bedrunners and bolster cushions to complete this Country Manor look.

The main hall staircase was dressed with beautiful voile with a feature swagged voile at the top of the stairway. Other public areas were the private dining room roman blinds with rich braiding and curtains with sparkling ties, the library in classic check/tartans and the drawing room with rich burgundy chenilles and tassel braids.

A stunning venue for any wedding.

We were approached by NJG Contracting and asked to do a sample room for the refurbishment of their new hotel in Salcombe. This is a 55 bedroom hotel with large public areas that also needed curtaining. Our sample room was preferred against another competitor in the soft furnishings trade and we were then asked to quote for all rooms, including curtains with double pinch pleated headings, voiles, roman blinds, sheer rollers, bolster cushions and pelmets. The design of the window treatments was carried out by Do Designs but we worked closely with them to advise on the best possible way to install the curtains, blinds and voiles (particularly the Bradley Double French Poles that were made specifically for this project). We installed all of the window treatments over a 8 – 10 week fitting programme and had to check measure at all phases of the project.

The public areas incorporated a double curved window in the restaurant which required a “wave” track of 13.5 metres long (made in two halves) and this had to be measured for accurately to ensure that it fitted perfectly. The voile curtains were then hung on the track taking over 1000 curtains hooks!! Another public area of interest was the spa and swimming pool area where we hung nautical rope curtains on special poles for a more humid environment. Overall, the project ran smoothly and the finished product was spectacular.

This was one of our larger projects and most exciting. We worked closely with the designer to make sure all curtains and voiles in the 88 bedrooms fitted perfectly and looked good. We experienced a number of problems with obstructions to the windows and advised accordingly the solutions for these. Fabrics and voiles were chosen by the designer but we advised on suitablility and style and recommended all hardware, including electric blinds, electric tracks and all tracking for bedrooms.

The public areas also were a challenge with nearly 6 metre drops in the main Function Room with electric tracks. The Jetty Restaurant had a very large curved end and so we had to measure and bend tracks for hanging curtains and voiles.

The Harbar on the 6th Floor had 24 electric blinds which we linked to work together and advised on fabric and carried out the full installation.

The Spa area looked fabulous with voiles on Wave Heading in Reception, Swimming Pool and Treatment areas.
